Roots Cares: Plant-Based Nutrition for the Family

Join Dr. Elizabeth Parker and Melissa Tillett as they discuss some of the medical science behind a healthy diet and how the role of nutrition is vital to a family’s wellness. They will discuss strategies for encouraging children to eat more plant-based meals and share ideas for packable school lunches. Light snacks will be served.

Elizabeth is a board-certified Pediatrician and Pediatric Endocrinologist. She spent the last 9 years working as a clinician at Children’s National Medical Center. Currently she is transitioning to a practice primarily focused on using changes in lifestyle, including healthy eating and regular exercise, to benefit the health of the whole family.

Melissa is a teacher and lawyer who became passionate about plant-based nutrition after having children. She is an adjunct instructor at Anne Arundel Community College. Melissa holds a certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from eCornell and is a children’s cooking instructor for Veggiecation.
